Intensive Russian Attacks Cut Power In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water systems, according to municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets attacked energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks struck energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the urban area endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks come after nights of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which are occupied by invading troops.

The whole nation is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.

Authorities told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the national power system, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were bracing for further attacks.
